With that said if this happens I will be the 1st to shake your hand. I mean I love Zibby as much as you, but come on that's like saying i am going to be elected president in 20 years. It could happen but probably not.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15561288.post-73423648113221486652007-03-22T22:39:00.000-04:002007-03-22T22:39:00.000-04:00Lambert was our starting corner over Wooden, who l...Lambert was our starting corner over Wooden, who lost the spot and became our nickelback.

David Bruton was a special teams beast and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him starting at FS.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15561288.post-71077015947131747102007-03-22T22:17:00.000-04:002007-03-22T22:17:00.000-04:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15561288.post-16608856905120915952007-03-22T13:38:00.000-04:002007-03-22T13:38:00.000-04:00We're pretty deep at receiver as well, although it...We're pretty deep at receiver as well, although it's not out of the question.

The depth is more likely to translate into better special teams.Wackohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11573984468865704789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15561288.post-32146392527201366642007-03-21T18:11:00.000-04:002007-03-21T18:11:00.000-04:00I doubt Gray gets redshirted IF he shows potential...I doubt Gray gets redshirted IF he shows potential--since his early enrollee status was to play early--2007. With that much safety depth--do we have a WR in the group? Zibby is a GREAT safety, and will shine in Brown's system.

Time will tell - he's got to get out on the field eventually.

Herring and Bruton will be fine if they start, and both are great athletes - just not as good athletes as Brown and Smith. If they start, it will rob the younger safeties of valuable game time.Wackohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11573984468865704789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15561288.post-40831945088219336502007-03-21T08:48:00.000-04:002007-03-21T08:48:00.000-04:00Hey,Good article, love the site. Judging by Bruton's special teams performance, he is a great tackler and can cover a lot of ground. Second, to call Zibikowksi a great college safety is, IMHO, boderline insanity. He has great straight line speed and is a beast on punt returns, but he is also a suprisingly bad tackler at many times (recall the Purdue bomb near the end of the first half last year, for starters) and is an absolute disaster in pass coverage. If he is ever isolated on a WR, chalk up 6, or more commonly, a PI penalty. Yeah, he's a safety, not a corner, but his pass coverage skills are that of a linebacker. In terms of reading the play action pass, he is probably the worst safety I have ever seen. The fact that he was a Third Team All American last year shows you what a joke the voting is; really, it's 90% pre-season name recognition. Don't get me wrong, I love the guy, like I love any one who plays for ND, but that doesn't blind me to his shortcomings on the football field.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
